The meeting was organised by the Spain India Council Foundation together with other institutions to promote Spain as a filming location for Indian movies
Mumbai will host this event, organised by the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, the Embassy of Spain in India, Turespaña, the Spain Film Commission, Casa de la India, Jausas and the Spain India Council Foundation, on February 9.
The aim of this event is to introduce Indian film-makers to the co-production agreement between Spain and India (in place since 2014), to present the new tax incentives for 2015 for shooting foreign films in Spain and to provide practical information about services and locations in the country. Among the attendees who have already confirmed they will be attending are Mukesh Bhatt, President of the Film and TV Producers Guild of India; Gustavo de Arístegui, Ambassador of Spain to India; Ignacio Ducasse, Counsellor at Turespaña’s office in Mumbai; Juan Manuel Guimerans, executive at the Spain Film Commission; Patricia Motilla, from Jausas Legal (a SICF patron) and Guillermo Rodríguez, Director of Casa de la India.
Spain and India have been working together for years to boost cooperation in the film sector. Since José Manuel García-Margallo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, signed the bilateral agreement for audiovisual co-production during the visit by King Juan Carlos to India, there have been numerous activities and meetings, such as the visit to Spain in 2013 by the President of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, Mukesh Bhatt, and the signing of an agreement between this institution and the SICF patron Casa de la India.
