This institution began an academic collaboration with JAIN University in November of last year
As part of its ongoing internationalization process, the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) has established a joint campus in Bangalore, India, with JAIN University.
According to the Murcian educational institution, India has consolidated its position as a global educational leader, with 45 million university students. Sunil Rongala, director of UCAM India, notes that "approximately two million Indian students study abroad annually, while the number of international universities in the country is growing, with around 40 expected to establish themselves here in the next five years."
UCAM's entry into the Asian country is in partnership with a local university, JAIN University, and its location in Bangalore is strategic, as it is the country's third-largest city and its main intellectual and technological hub.
"India will be a dominant power in the coming decades thanks to its economic dynamism, stability, and demographic potential (...) it is destined to lead the global economy, technology, and higher education, forging closer ties with the world's major decision-making centers."
Under the agreement between the two universities, undergraduate and graduate programs based on experiential learning and employability will be promoted throughout this year. Applied research and specialization in areas such as sports, robotics, AI, and Big Data will also be prioritized, combining the potential of both institutions to develop high-performing global professionals.
