It will support the presence of up to 50 Spanish tourism professionals with offers and products suited to the Asian country's market
The Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña), an autonomous body attached to the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, recently announced the opening of the call for applications to participate in the Spain Travel Market India 2026, one of its main international promotion and marketing initiatives targeting the Indian market.
The event, organized by the Turespaña office in Mumbai as part of the Spain-India Dual Year, will be held from October 5 to 9, 2026, in Uttarakhand and will bring together Spanish tourism promotion agencies and companies with specialized buyers from the Indian market.
The call for applications anticipates the participation of up to 50 representatives from Spanish entities and companies (25 in each category: Luxury FIT and Premium MICE), who will hold pre-arranged B2B meetings with an equal number of Indian travel agents, with the aim of generating new business opportunities and strengthening Spain's presence as a high-quality, safe, and sustainable tourist destination.
Interested organizations and companies can submit their applications until August 17, 2026.
According to Turespaña, India is among the top ten source markets in the world and stands out for the high spending of its travelers, their increasing average stay in Spain, and their tendency to travel off-season. In 2025, the average expenditure of Indian tourists in Spain experienced a significant increase, reaching €3,257, with an average stay of approximately 10-12 days, continuing the upward trend of recent years. Spain enjoys a very positive image within India, offering a variety of tourism products and personalized experiences that align perfectly with what Indian travelers seek when visiting Europe.
