A delegation from the Spain Film Commission participated in the promotion of the Spanish audiovisual sector in this important Asian market
As part of the celebration of the Spain-India Dual Year 2026, Spain participated as the guest country at the Delhi International Film Festival, held from March 25 to 31 in the Indian capital.
A delegation from the Spain Film Commission attended this event, which aims to foster cultural exchange through film and facilitate debate on important social issues through the big screen. The delegation was headed by Juan Manuel Guimeráns and Lara Molina Gil, president and general coordinator of the Spain Film Commission, respectively. They were joined by Lorena Robredo, representing the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA); Rodrigo Espinel, producer at Morena Films; Carlota Amor and Federico Pájaro, producers at Garajonay Producciones; and actor Enrique Arce, known in India for his role in "Money Heist" (La Casa de Papel).
Among the events in which the Spanish delegation participated were the opening ceremony, attended by Delhi's Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, and Delhi's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Kapil Mishra; the screening of Sirât; the panel discussion on female voices in the industry, featuring Carlota Amor; the presentation of several Spanish documentaries; meetings at the festival's market to promote co-productions and filming in Spain; Juan Manuel Guimeráns' participation in a panel discussion on the impact of film festivals; and the panel discussion "Cinema Across Cultures: Spain in the Spotlight," which included the entire delegation.
Participation in this festival has allowed the Spanish delegation to promote the Spanish audiovisual sector in one of the world's largest markets, generate opportunities between the two countries, and connect with leading institutions in the region.
