A series of cultural events and meetings aimed at strengthening ties between the Asian country and Spain
The Embassy of India in Spain held a program of activities throughout March as part of the celebrations for the Spain-India Dual Year 2026.
At the beginning of the month, the Embassy organized the third edition of 'Olé India!': a free cultural festival celebrating the richness, diversity, and energy of India in Madrid. The Embassy promotes this event to strengthen cultural ties between the two countries and to share traditions, art, and gastronomy with the general public. It also serves as a meeting point between the Indian diaspora and the Spanish community for an evening of music and dance.
Furthermore, to mark International Women's Day, the Embassy organized a panel discussion entitled "Women of the Indian Diaspora: Journeys in a Foreign Land." Moderated by Dr. Priya Jayant, the event brought together a group of women who shared their personal and professional journeys, as well as their experiences and perspectives as part of the Indian diaspora in Spain. Ambassador Jayant N. Khobragade also met with Elma Saiz, the Spanish Minister of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, to discuss ways to expand cooperation on talent mobility between India and Spain.
The Ambassador also met with the CEO of Prasar Bharati, India's public broadcasting corporation, to discuss strengthening media collaboration between India and Spain and expanding information exchange through broadcasting and digital platforms in both countries.
