Indian technology companies explore establishing a presence in Southern Spain

Two initiatives from the province of Cádiz and the Autonomous City of Ceuta offer their advantages and opportunities to companies from the Asian country

The Second Vice President of the Autonomous City of Ceuta, Kissy Chandiramani, recently presented an initiative aimed at attracting technological investments from India. This initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Finance in collaboration with the public company Procesa, was attended by 15 Indian technology companies specializing in software development, data analytics, and technological applications. The event showcased the city's tax advantages and economic development opportunities.

"We want to leverage India's vast technological potential and the historical connections of Ceuta's Hindu community, the oldest in Spain," stated Kissy Chandiramani, who emphasized that "Ceuta is the best place in Europe to invest because of its tax system, its environment, and above all, its people."

The Second Vice President expressed her satisfaction with the interest shown by the visitors and the emerging collaborative prospects. "Discussions have begun to attract talent, train professionals, and establish business structures in the city," she affirmed. Investors particularly value Ceuta's tax and legal framework, its connectivity with Spain, Europe, and Latin America, and the opportunity to establish local sales and technical teams.

India-Cádiz Investment Bridge

Furthermore, the Cádiz Investment Hub (CIH), an initiative of the Confederation of Companies of the Province of Cádiz (CEC), coordinated a visit from a delegation of 25 Indian technology companies. The meeting, held within the framework of the India-Spain Innovation Bridge, aimed to open a new channel for investment and technological collaboration between the two countries, positioning the province as a gateway to the European market for startups and innovative companies from the Asian nation.

Manuel Martín, head of the Cádiz Investment Hub, emphasized that "this mission accelerates a real flow of investment opportunities in sectors where Cádiz is strong: port logistics, industrial digitalization, and the blue economy. Our role is to transform interest into projects, supporting companies in their launch and growth."

Cádiz Investment Hub also highlights that "the combination of port and rail infrastructure, local talent, and leading companies positions Cádiz as a competitive hub for applied innovation and technological production geared towards Europe, Africa, and Asia."
