Extremadura is being promoted in India as a birdwatching and ecotourism destination

The Board participated with its own stand at the Global Wildlife Fair, an ecotourism and conservation fair held in New Delhi

The General Directorate of Tourism of the Regional Government of Extremadura (Junta de Extremadura) participated for the first time in the Global Wildlife Fair, a wildlife conservation and ecotourism fair held in the Indian city of New Delhi.

The Junta de Extremadura's stand served to promote the region as one of the best nature and birdwatching destinations in Europe. The Global Wildlife Fair brings together tour operators, institutions, and conservation organizations from India and other Asian countries.

In addition to promoting the region's natural resources, the Junta de Extremadura showcased the work of the Birding Club. This is a pioneering initiative in Spain that brings together more than 170 public and private partners to promote ornithological tourism and offer quality service to customers. Its members include accommodations, nature guides, travel agencies, photography service companies, tourist offices, and interpretation centers.

The Junta de Extremadura's collaboration with the New Delhi fair will extend for a year, with online participation in webinars and podcasts, as well as access to the Global Wildlife Tourism Alliance, an international network that will facilitate opportunities for collaboration, visibility, and sustainable development.
