The signing of agreements with key institutions such as FTII Pune, ESCAC Barcelona, and ECAM Madrid marks the beginning of new academic and professional exchanges between the two countries
Our patron, Casa de la India, with the support of the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, recently held the third edition of the Spain-India Producers' Meeting, which marked an important milestone for audiovisual cooperation between the two countries. The meeting took place within the framework of Iberseries & Platino Industria and included a series of meetings, presentations, and networking activities.
The Indian delegation participating in the meeting was made up of prominent film producers, supported by representatives from institutions such as the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Embassy of India in Spain—led by Ambassador Jayant Khobragade—and other prominent figures. Participants were able to interact with producers and audiovisual industry professionals from both Spain and other countries present at Iberseries.
In addition, the Indian Pavilion showcased initiatives of the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), such as the IFFI Goa International Film Festival and the Waves Bazaar audiovisual summit in Mumbai.
On the other hand, the Spain-India co-production meeting, under the theme "India-Spain-Ibero-America: Creative Connections," was attended by the Spain Film Commission and the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA). This meeting strengthens the bilateral audiovisual co-production agreement between India and Spain, signed in 2012 and which will be updated shortly to adapt to the new realities of the sector.
Among the main outcomes of these meetings are the agreements signed by the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) with the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC) and the Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid (ECAM). In addition, the Indian delegation explored various projects and professional opportunities led by Indian companies and entities such as ZEE Entertainment, Content Flow Studios, Indian Motion Pictures Association, and Sphereco Productions.
The meeting, which is also part of the preparatory events for the Spain-India Dual Year 2026, strengthens the ties between the Spanish and Indian industries, as well as Spain's position as a meeting point and ideal destination for audiovisual productions.
