Sunil Lal held a private meeting and treated the Indian Leaders to dinner at his residence
On the first day of the Indian Leaders Programme, the six participants in this edition held a private meeting at the Embassy of India to Spain with Ambassador Sunil Lal and other members of the diplomatic delegation. Several topics regarding the two countries and their diplomatic relations were addressed at the meeting.
In the evening, the Ambassador treated the participants to a private dinner at his residence, during which they had the chance to discuss the usefulness of the Indian Leaders Programme and take stock of the first work session in Madrid.
Spain and India began diplomatic relations in 1956 and exchanges in all areas have been stepped up significantly in recent years. Ambassador Sunil Lal has been a career diplomat since 1992 and occupied different positions in Turkey, the US and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in India. He was also Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until he was appointed Ambassador of India to Spain in September 2011.
