Matters of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting, which focused on the more political aspects of bilateral relations
Following the breakfast meeting held by the Board members of the Spain India Council Foundation with the delegation of Indian MPs visiting Spain, Secretary of State for External Affairs Ignacio Ybáñez welcomed the group at the headquarters of the Ministry of External Affairs and Cooperation. The Indian delegationwas led by Ananth Kumar, Indian Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers.
Matters of mutual interest were addressed at the meeting, with a special focus on cooperation in the fight against terrorism, uncontrolled migration flows, renewable energies, town planning and smart cities, waste management, water management, science and technology and other topics related to strengthening bilateral relations in the context of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
On top of this post-breakfast meeting with the Secretary of State, the programme for the delegation of Indian MPs in Spain also included meetings in Madrid with members of the Spanish Board of Congress and the Chairman of its Commission for External Affairs, Jesús Posada, as well as the Secretary of State for Congress Relations, José Luis Ayllón. In Valladolid, the MPs had the chance to meet with officers of the Castilla y León regional government, the local council, Casa de la India and the University of Valladolid.
