It was the second time this annual economic summit had been held, the biggest international summit of its kind, attended by 300 managers.

This annual economic meeting brought together in Spain, for the first time, more than 300 Presidents and CEOS of important Indian and Spanish companies, as well as companies from around the world.

The event, which took place at the Westin Palace in Madrid, was organized by Horasis and was hosted by Casa Asia, Madrid City Hall, PromoMadrid, ICEX and INVEST IN SPAIN representing Spain and by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) representing India, in addition to the collaboration of the Spain-India Council Foundation.

It was the second time this annual economic summit had been held, the biggest international summit of its kind, attended by 300 managers of key Indian and European companies as well as companies from around the world, to discuss both the globalization of Indian companies and the business and investment opportunities that this South Asian Country can offer to Western markets, as both a source and target of investment.

Since 2009 the Global India Business Meeting has been a unique platform for Indian businesses seeking to globalize their operations in Western economies. The Madrid summit also emphasized the investment opportunities this Asian country offers, particularly in terms of infrastructure, renewable energies, information technology (IT) and biotechnology.

The Spanish Minister of Trade, Miguel Sebastián, and the President of the Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre, also attended the summit along with government authorities and representatives from Spain and India.
