SICF's patrons had the opportunity to outline their projects and business underway in India
Ruchi Ghanashyam, Secretary (West) at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, has visited Spain. During her stay, the Spain India Council Foundation was able to organise a meeting with patron members, which was also attended by the Ambassador of India to Spain, Venkatesh Varma.
Ms Ghanashyam took the floor during the event to give an overview of India's society and economy, its short- and mid-term outlook and the opportunities for foreign companies, especially in industries in which Spain boasts cutting-edge players.
SICF's Secretary General, Alonso Dezcallar, spoke about the Foundation’s nature, objectives and activities, as well as the milestones reached since its creation in 2009 and the role it has played in strengthening bilateral relations.
The Foundation's patrons also had a chance to present their companies and organisations and tell the Secretary (West) about their presence in India and other countries and continents, as well as the potential and added value offered by their businesses.
As well as the Foundation's patrons, Ms Ghanashyam also met with the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Alfonso Dastis, and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ildefonso Castro. Bilateral political consultations were undertaken within the framework of the political dialogue established by the two countries between the Ministries in 2014.
