FITUR Screen will host the presentation of the new award for Best Screen Tourism Experience, as well as the awards for Best Production and Ambassador of the Year
FITUR, the International Tourism Fair held every January in Madrid, is once again hosting the eighth edition of FITUR Screen. This section of the fair is dedicated to promoting the link between the audiovisual industry and tourist destinations.
Organized by FITUR and the Spain Film Commission, FITUR Screen focuses on the impact of film, television series, and audiovisual production on tourism promotion. This year's event will revolve around the start of the Spain-India Dual Year 2026 and will feature the participation of the Indian Ambassador to Spain, Jayant N. Khobragade, and Rishabh Chopra, Honorary Ambassador of the Spain Film Commission and Head of Production at Yash Raj Films, responsible for major Indian productions that have used Spanish locations. Representatives from the Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism, the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Administration, and the Ministry of Culture will also be present.
During FITUR Screen, the Spain Film Commission will present a special award, the SFC Global Visionaires Awards, to Yash Raj Films and Atrece Creaciones for their contribution to audiovisual collaboration between Spain and India. The Experiences Program will also be launched, an initiative of the Spain Film Commission that seeks to promote innovative and sustainable tourism products based on film locations. Finally, Brazil, Morelia (Mexico), and Madhya Pradesh will participate in FITUR Screen as key destinations for the film industry in Latin America and India.
This year, FITUR Screen will introduce the award for Best Screen Tourism Experience, which will recognize initiatives that integrate creativity, sustainability, and innovation in the creation of screen tourism experiences. This award joins the existing Best Production award, which highlights productions with a significant impact on promoting Spain as an audiovisual destination, and the Spain Film Commission Ambassador of the Year award, which recognizes individuals whose work contributes to the international projection of the Spanish film industry.
